Pólstjarna Scarf is a beautiful tribute to Iceland’s maritime history.
As darkness fell over the open sea, the constellation in the night sky served as the sailors’ most important navigational tool, guiding them safely northwards back to harbour.
The wool protected the fishermen and kept them warm under the harsh conditions at sea.

Workflow
Pólstjarna Scarf is worked in a two-coloured pattern according the chart. The scarf is worked as a long tube to the recommended length. Then, the tube is twisted half a turn and the ends are sewn together with the Kitchener stitch from the right side.

Recommended needle
Circular needle 3,5 mm, 40 cm
Stitch markers

Gauge
25 stitches x 25 rounds on needle 3,5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
The gauge swatch is measured in pattern and after washing.

When working with multiple colours, take measurements of your gauge while knitting.
Remember that the needle size is just a recommendation.
