Dream yourself away to balmy summer days in this loose-fitting, exclusive summer top. The design combines the casual look of a classic linen shirt with the delicate texture of French summer knitwear. 
The top is full of feminine details, including subtle pin-tucks, soft rolled hems and short cap sleeves. 
A special detail is the drawstring waist, which accentuates the waist and emphasises a relaxed, sunny Provençal atmosphere.

    Workflow
    The Avelin Top is worked in a simple Damask pattern, following the chart.
    It is worked top down with a European shoulder construction. First, the top part of the back yoke is worked flat. Then, you pick up stitches for the front pieces along the back’s shoulder lines.  Once the upper part of the front yoke has been completed and the neckline has been shaped, the pieces are joined and worked in rows down to just below the armholes. 
    Here, the front and back are joined to form the body, which is worked in rounds downwards. The body is worked to the desired length and finished with a drawstring, through which two I-cords are pulled and tied at both ends. 
    Stitches are picked up around the armholes and finished with pin-tucks as well as rolled edges. 
    Finally, you'll pick up stitches around the neckline, which are also finished with a pin-tuck and a rolled edge.

    Gauge
    23 stitches x 30 rounds on needle 3,5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
    The gauge swatch is measured in pattern and after washing. 
    Remember that the needle size is just a recommendation.
